Home » Trans-Afghan corridor launched - from Kazakhstan to UAE port
A new "Trans-Afghan Corridor" has been launched, and the first cargo has already been successfully delivered from Kazakhstan's Pavlodar to one of the world's largest ports — Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates. This logistics route, which passes through Afghanistan and Pakistan, significantly speeds up delivery compared to traditional routes, opening up new prospects for Kazakhstan's exporters.
Kazakhstan has launched a new Trans-Afghan corridor, successfully delivering the first cargo from Pavlodar to the port of Jebel Ali (UAE) via Afghanistan and Pakistan. Transportation of 4,900 km to the port of Karachi took 20 days, and the total transportation took 38 days. This route significantly accelerates the delivery of goods to the markets of the Middle East and Southeast Asia, opening up new opportunities for Kazakhstan's exporters.
The 4,900-kilometer cargo journey to the Pakistani port of Karachi took just 20 days. This opens up significant advantages for Kazakhstani producers seeking to expand their presence in the markets of the Middle East, as well as South and Southeast Asia.
The logistics chain started in Pavlodar on April 27 with the loading of two trucks, each of which transported 21 tons of products. These cargoes were sent to the Zhetygen transport and logistics center in Almaty region. There, they were loaded into two 40-foot sea containers mounted on container ships that sailed through Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The containers reached Karachi in 20 days, covering a difficult route, and on June 1 were transferred to a feeder ship. Two days later, on June 3, they successfully arrived at the port of Jebel Ali. The total duration of transportation was 38 days, which made this route the most efficient for the customer.
As part of the pilot project, it is planned to transport 60 containers along this route in June-July. This creates additional opportunities for Kazakhstani exporters seeking to supply products to the growing markets of the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The development of the Trans-Afghan Corridor promises to increase economic integration between Kazakhstan and its partners in the region, as well as strengthen the country's position as an important player in the international logistics and transport services market.
