The first container train carrying ceramic tiles has been sent from India to Kazakhstan. The train transits through Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. This route is designed to optimize logistics and speed up cargo transportation within the eastern direction of the international transport corridor "North-South “.
Shipping of containers is organized by companies "Kedentransservice” (subsidiary "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy “), Uzbek Uztemiryulcontainer and Turkmen "TLCT”. The cargo was loaded at the port Mundra (India) and goes to the station Sorokovaya Street in Astana.
The total length of the route is 1,585 km by sea and 4,300 km by rail. Depending on the load of the Iranian port Bander-Abbas, delivery time is estimated from 25 to 30 days.
